How it works
- Add your photos — up to 50, straight from your phone or computer.
- Tell us the wall — type the size, or take a picture of the wall and we estimate it.
- Pick a layout — grids, salon walls and lines are ranked by how well they fit your photos and space.
- Hang it — print the life-size guide, tape it up and drill through the marks.

Quick answers
- What is a gallery wall planner?
- A gallery wall planner arranges your frames for you before you hang anything. Once Upon A Home takes your own photos and wall size, generates ranked layouts, and shows them to scale — then gives you a printable hanging guide with nail positions.
- Is the gallery wall layout generator free?
- Yes. Uploading photos, generating layouts and previewing them on your wall is free. You pay once ($7.99 for a single wall) only for the printable hanging guide and frame shopping list.
- How much space should I leave between frames?
- Leave 2–3 inches (5–8 cm) between frames and keep that gap the same everywhere. The planner applies one consistent gap, and you can adjust it with a slider.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. On a phone you add photos, take a picture of your wall so it can estimate the size, and the best-scoring layout is shown on your own wall.
- How many photos can I use?
- Up to 50 photos in one wall. Layouts are built around your photos' shapes instead of forcing them into a fixed template.
- What do I get when I pay?
- A life-size printable hanging guide with nail positions and measurements, plus a list of real frame sizes to buy.
